ABOUT US The people Virosatours is run by Piet and Margot van Heerde. The business was established in 2002 and is still running. Our love for the desert is so big that we thought it to be shared in a responsible way with people from all over the world. We used to be based in Springbok, the hart of Namaqualand but due to demand for more and more tours from Cape Town we decided to move closer to the mother city and we are now based in Hopefield on the west coast. TYPES OF TOURS WE PRESENT: We present exclusive tours with the focus on the need of our client. All our tours are tailormade for our clients and the few advertised here are just for refference but can be done as well. We cater for photographers and have assisted in numerous site locations for the film and advertising industries. COST CALCULATION: Our pricing is calculated by the number of clients, distance to travel, type of accommodation and special food needs. Due to the ever increasing fuel price in SA we can not have any set rates. Our aim is to keep our price as low as possible and not our quality. EXAMPLE OF TYPICALL TOUR: A typical tour will be between 4 and 14 days, either camping, chalets, hotels, the choice is yours. We often do a combination of ruffing it and luxury. We start after breakfast and spend the day out and about, visiting sites of your interest. Photographers will have the golden hours of the morning and evening light to work with. WHAT DO WE EAT: Somewhere at a suitable site we will stop for a light lunch and in the evening we will have a dinner cooked on an open fire under the stars or a restuarant when we stay in a hotel. Early morning we rise with coffee and a rusk before we have a basic breakfast of cereal and yoghurt and some fruit. Lunch will be bread with cold meats, cheese, tomato and some spreads. Dinner will be a South African "braai" with one or two meats, a vegetable, a pre packed salad and a roll, or in a restuarant. We do cater for vegetarians. VEHICLES: We make use of Toyota Landcruiser 60 series vehicle, a spacious, sturdy 4x4 that can go anywhere and if anything goes wrong relatively easy to fix.
